Stories from Home

First wedding anniversary – parts V & VI

The last two days of our travels are combined into one post. It has been a thoroughly enjoyable stay at Spicers Clovelly, Montville. We have also enjoyed exploring the local area and supporting the economy. We have found some quirky things to add to our home, from our travels.

We have enjoyed breakfasting with Master Arthur, known as Arty, 12 week old Cavalier King Charles Spaniel. His bark, this morning at a magpie and the gardeners, was so cute – he will grow into something more. He is such a well-mannered young man with a doting mum.

We have traversed roads that were new to us, wonderful adventures and research for future rides. We have been delighted meeting the supervisor pooches who are keeping their humans in line, whilst working. One in particular, Gracie, was gorgeous – a Golden Retriever who comes to say hello then does her thing on her terms. It’s hard not to have a puppy moment.

We stroll leisurely through the streets and enjoy the hospitality, the food, the atmosphere. It is much more pleasant on non-weekend days however, Monday/Tuesday are not the best days to explore as places are enjoying their weekend over these days.

There is nothing like roaming through the roads, being nowhere you need to be, simply taking time and enjoying, breathing in the mountains and the scenery. We have been blessed with good weather and amazing hospitality. Spicers have been blessed by the covid restrictions and, in all honesty, so have we as we would never have chosen to go there except for the restrictions. I am thankful for the time we have had here, enjoying, indulging and breathing. Whilst we had 3 nights, it was difficult to leave and come home, even though we love our home and quite enjoy being there. Travelling, exploring and experiencing is something truly special and our return to “normality” gives us more opportunity to go and enjoy experiences.

Nature is majestic and never ceases to take your breath away. The Glasshouse Mountains are simply amazing. I hadn’t realised that it is made up of 10 mountains – you learn something new every day.

Thank you for travelling along with us. We hope you are inspired to go explore and live a little, so close to the usual place of residence. There is so much to see, experience and enjoy. Here’s cheers to adventure and exploration. Until our next escapade…..cheers
