First wedding anniversary – part IV
It’s pretty exhausting being nowhere you have to be and doing nothing you have to do, so much so that last night’s sleep was one of the longest in almost living memory. Lasting less than a page on the kindle before nodding off, it was many hours before the body decided to wake. A quiet coffee before dining at the inhouse restaurant downstairs started the day. Breakfast was fruit, juice, pastries, choice of meal and another coffee. So started our wedding anniversary.
Breakfast was leisurely, no rush, take your time, simply enjoy the space and the place – the way some true downtime should be spent.
We decided to mosey through some of the local area, finding our way to Gardners Falls – a beautiful location, very popular today with it being a Sunday and summery. On a weekday, it would be a wonderful location to simply hear the running water as it trips and tumbles over the volcanic rock set in place many millennia ago.
Maleny called next with a stroll along the main street, watching people, finding amusement, generally just enjoying. We strolled through some antiques/old wares stores and then headed to Lake Baroon spillway. The Lake is much lower than the spillway – it would be lovely to see it filled and spilling over.
This is exhausting work so a drive to Flaxton and Mapleton then back to Le Relais Bressan for some sustenance was in order.
As the temperature was climbing. returning to our quiet air conditioned room with window seat was in order, with a little lie down after having such a busy time of things. One must be prepared for pre-dinner drinks and cocktails tonight.
Dinner was a delightful degustation with matching wines. Simply superb!
