A little time in the country

There’s so much to say and yet little flows. It has been an intense 10 or so days with a 3-day large trial coming to a conclusion a few days ago. There has been a lot of hours in that journey and a lot of blur lately – so much being done, so little remembered. In this time, though, there have been beautiful friends (and a worried husband) who have made the time so much easier. There have been beautiful creatures, spectacular country, driving and riding, museums and the outdoors. There has been good food and camaraderie which has been an integral and vital part of the journey of the last couple of weeks. This was the second trial of what was original a run of 5 trials, all multi-day over 6 weeks, 3 of the trials happening in a period of 9 business days. The third one starts tomorrow, the fourth went elsewhere and the fifth is yet to come in two weeks’ time. I have learned that I much prefer preparing trials as an Independent Children’s Lawyer, rather than for a party; there are many hours, but sometimes it feels like few, in the day and sometimes sleep is a luxury;  hydration is important as is good food and friendship.

The last two weekends have seen us travel many kilometres with this weekend traversing about 880km, 500 today. We have traversed roads from Brisbane to Boonah, to Bundaberg, Biggenden, Goomeri (via backroads), Yarraman, Esk and home.

The Templin Museum is a worthwhile spot to spend a few hours, wandering through some fantastic heritage. We find sustenance at Malaya Corner, Elliott Heads Café, Melbourne Hotel Bundaberg, Kape Centro at Childers, and from Pizza Capers. We sample product at Kalki Moon Distilling and Brewing Company, Ohana Winery and have a passing visit to Bundaberg Distillery and Bundaberg Brewed Drinks where there are no tastings nor tours currently.  We support the local economy and small business.  These wanderings are all at our choosing, not sponsored or influenced by anyone. They are spent with good friends enjoying good times and for this there are many blessings, all appreciated.

What do you think?
