Staycationing – February 2022

A little staycation is good for your health.

We had a lovely overnight at Treasury Hotel – to celebrate the first anniversary of a significant birthday for the male of this duo. It is always a lovely stay, with a decent sized bath that kinda sorta not really fits 2 people, huge bed and all round olde worlde qualities.

We added to this with a little tour of a couple bars – Misdemeanour and Brew – before partaking of celebratory beverages. No food porn on this occasion as we were engrossed in the amazing meal. We were little piggies, ordering (as it turned out) more than we could eat – so sad to send food back started but not finished. The onion rings were referred to as “donuts” because that is exactly what they looked like. The hand cut chips were gorgeous and the zucchini, because we had to have a “proper” vegetable was accompanied by chilli – a little more than the birthday boy enjoys. Let’s just say the service and the produce at Black Hyde was superb and this is not a paid advertisement but the observations of a person who enjoys her food, sometimes a little too much, in lovely surroundings with good company.

Take some time to walk the city, look around, up and down and see what little things you can see – mouse sized doors, lovely light fittings, bees telling a message.

Take time also to find the Macarthur Museum in the building here the Apple Store resides – access from Edward Street. This location was quite involved in World War II. The city has some pretty cool history if you take a little time to find out. Happy exploring.

What do you think?
